Dupont Marsh State Nature Preserve

The Dupont Marsh State Nature Preserve (shown in photos below) and the Huron River Greenway share a common trailhead at the water tower on River Road in Huron, Ohio. A visitor can take the left trail head and enter the Greenway or go straight ahead and enter the 114 acre DuPont Marsh nature preserve which has a trail that leads hikers through the dense woods to the marsh area which is part of a system of preserves owned by the State of Ohio, but in this case, managed by the Erie County Metroparks  The Dupont Marsh State Nature Preserve is one of the few remaining river marshes in Ohio that flows into the coastal zone. The compacted earth woodland trail is uneven with some inclines which can be wet and slippery in spots and therefore this trail is not senior oriented.
