Milan Public School (1884-1922)

"The old brick school building on South Center Street was erected the year after the enabling law was passed, and at that time was one of the most substantial and convenient public school building in the state. A fine and beautiful structure of brick, trimmed in sand-stone, was built in 1884. It is in the form of a cross, has all modern convenience and is well lighted. The architecture is very fine. " by The History of Erie County. The above photo shows the school beside St. Anthony's Church.
