Schoepfle Garden |
|
Of the many things to see and do in the Milan area, perhaps the most fascinating is a visit to the Schoepfle Garden which is located 13 miles from Milan in Birmingham, Ohio. Schoepfle Gardem (photos below) is 70 acres of botanical gardens and natural woodland bordered on one side by the Vermilion River. The garden is named after Otto B. Schoepfle who purchased the property in 1936 and who developed the property into a stunning garden based upon his visits to botanical gardens throughout Europe. In 1969, he donated the garden to Lorain County Metro Parks. Schoepfle Garden is located directly off State Route 113 and if you're into photography, bring your camera - it is simply stunning. The wide central paved path that runs through the garden park area is elderly friendly and handicap accessible. |
