The Good News...and it's very good news, is that a
bike/ walkway/jogging tunnel has been built under Rt.250 which will allow the Greenway to
connect with the North Coast Inland Trail at Norwalk. One of the problems
in developing the trail has been the need to cross Rt. 250. For those
who want to see or walk the tunnel, it's located across the
entrance of the HRG in Milan. |

Well, it's still closed. At least, most of the Huron
River Greenway is still closed which is reflected on the sign above at one
of the entrances to the Greenway. I know that the MetroParks people are
negotiating with the owners of the land beside the Greenway and they are
making progress, but there are still a few people who refuse to negotiate
in good faith. Hope springs eternal. |

It's hard to imagine anything being uglier than what
has been done to the entrance of the Huron River Greenway in downtown
Milan. Apparently the owner of this land (who shall go nameless) has
decided to make a statement on what he thinks of the Greenway. What an
insult to the history of Milan Canal and to the people who treasure the
unique history of the Milan. |
